Honey Mustard Chicken SandwichSometime ago I ordered food from Black Garlic, Jakarta’s meal kit delivery service. I ordered one Indonesian menu, and Caesar salad chicken sandwich. Each menu served for two portions, but since I’m staying home alone at that time I ended up eating one menu day and night, and still have leftover for tomorrow. And for the chicken sandwich I give it a little bit modification to the recipe, and made honey mustard chicken sandwich.

The original recipe from Black Garlic give mustard as the spread for the sandwich, and it taste good as it is, but my creative juices was flowing like a streams, and I want make something different. I use the mustard as a marinade, and combine it with lemon juice, honey, and minced garlic.

Honey Mustard Chicken Sandwich

I’m pretty happy with my decision , because the marinade makes this chicken so juicy and flavorful. And pile that flavorful juicy chicken between crusty Parisian bread is heavenly. Since that I have made this honey mustard chicken sandwich a couple times, and it become my favorite for lazy quick meal.


  • 2 boneless skinless chicken breast, halves
  • 2 bread, halved horizontally

Honey-mustard sauce

  • 1 tablespoon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 garlic clove, smashed and minced
  • freshly grated black pepper

Caesar Salad

  • 1 large head romaine lettuce, cleaned and cut into desire size
  • 1/4 cup caesar salad dressing
  • finely grated parmesan
  • freshly grated black pepper


  • Mix all the ingredients for honey mustard sauce in a medium bowl. Add chicken, and toss to coat. Refrigerate, covered, for 20-30 minutes.
  • Preheat grill to medium-high. Grill chicken on one side for 3 minutes, flip the chicken, and cook ┬áin other side for another 3 minutes, cooking time will depend on the thickness of the chicken. Take off the chicken and let it rest for a couple minutes.
  • Spread the baguettes with butter. Grill, cut sides down for about 1-2 minutes, until crisp.
  • Place the lettuce in a salad bowl. Sprinkle with black pepper, and parmesan. Drizzle with salad dressing and toss well.
  • Slice the the chicken breast, lay few slices of chicken breast and salad on each bread. Serve with more caesar salad on a side.
